| Unfortunately we didn't manage to get a
picture of the stuffed moose at the side of the
road near Apple Valley, done up to look like a
reindeer. |

Palm Springs had wind turbines, and dust, and
sunshine, and suburbs full of very ordinary
bungalows with very high hedges. |
| We went on a Houses of the Celebrities tour.
Everyone else on the bus was older than the two
of us put together (even the driver & guide).
They said Bob Hope just used his big |
 |
| house on the hillside for parties - he spent
most of his time pottering about his bungalow in
Palm Springs proper and sitting by the pool. So I
guess I live like a film star already! |

Saw this car parked next to ours at the Motel
6 in Palm Springs - the sticker says "You're
just jealous because the voices talk to me". |
| We stopped at the General Patton
Museum and took our first Mr Bendy picture for
Neil and Mia. Later we stopped at a "comfort
station". Unlike the French, they have
proper loos. You can't go behind a cactus, even a
saguaro, unless you're very very thin. |
